FORMULA 1 BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX 2024

The Island nation of Bahrain has hosted the FIA Formula 1 World Championship since 2004 and while the Sakhir International Circuit has numerous configurations, the traditional 5.4KM Grand Prix Circuit layout is to be used once again in 2024 – and for the first time since 2010, Bahrain is scheduled to host the FORMULA 1 season opener. In 2024, Bahrain will join Saudi Arabia and  Las Vegas in making it three Saturday races on the calendar, the former two accommodating Ramadan – a period of fasting, prayer and reflection observed by Muslims around the world. Therefore, the opening two free practice sessions will take place on Thursday, FP3 and qualifying on Friday and the main event – the Grand Prix – on Saturday.

A short drive from Manama, the circuit is unique in its desert location and the challenges that bring to the teams and drivers in terms of maximising the grip from the asphalt. The layout is dominated by relatively long straights, providing plenty of opportunities for racing and passing, especially into turns four and 11.
